Western Regional Sales Manager

A leading innovator and design manufacturer of specification-grade LED lighting fixtures for commercial, institutional, industrial, and retail applications is seeking a Western Regional Sales Manager. With more than 30 years of experience delivering industry-leading lighting solutions known for superior visual aesthetics, photometric performance, and innovative mechanical design, we are looking for a motivated sales professional to expand product acceptance across the Western United States and Canada.
The Western Regional Sales Manager will develop and cultivate product acceptance among key industry stakeholders including electrical and lighting contractors, industrial contractors, general contractors, specification specialists, distributors, and independent sales representatives. This role reports directly to executive leadership and is responsible for driving sales growth across the Western territory. The successful candidate will be expected to meet and exceed assigned quarterly sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Achieve targeted sales growth for the Western territory at a rate and profit margin consistent with the company’s strategic business plan.
- Manage the relationships and sales performance of independent sales representatives within the territory.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing accounts by supporting representatives and specifiers with project specifications.
- Provide current market intelligence, including trends and competitive insights, to support internal product development efforts.
- Deliver product presentations and training to independent representatives and introduce new products to specifiers.
- Develop and maintain detailed sales plans and forecasts for each independent representative.
- Submit weekly reports summarizing sales calls, activities, and customer engagement.
- Identify and engage key specifiers through participation in trade associations and industry conferences.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on sales meetings, product launches, and marketing initiatives.
- Provide feedback to the factory regarding product needs, competitive offerings, and pricing insights.
Experience / Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience with a specification-grade lighting manufacturer or agency.
- Strong understanding of the specification market.
- Working knowledge of photometry, LED optics, and lighting fixture design/mechanics preferred.
Compensation & Travel
- Base salary range: $120,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience.
- Quarterly bonus and additional performance-based incentives
- Travel requirement: Approximately 50–60% travel throughout the Western United States and Canada to support representatives, customers, project opportunities, and industry events.
