Director, OEM & Export Sales
Remote w/ Domestic & International Travel
In your role as Director, OEM & Export Sales, you will be responsible for driving growth across MaxLite’s controls, light sources, lighting products, and related components through strategic partnerships with luminaire manufacturers and private label customers in the U.S. and international markets. You will lead efforts to expand and strengthen export sales channels across Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America, ensuring revenue growth and market penetration through effective business development and relationship management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish new product and project definitions with internal and external teams for USA and Global OEM customers, maintain project tracking, and project coordination to ensure timely completion.
- Leadership of MaxLite China Sales team including C2C Director of Sales and associated team members.
- Maintain established margin targets and helps set competitive pricing for products particular OEM USA and overseas customers.
- Market MaxLite C-Max controls package to Tier 2 and Tier 3 OEMs.
- Support C-Max specification resources at end-user and specifier level.
- Travel to luminaire manufacturer's HQ across USA to meet with Engineers, Product Development, and executive personnel.
- Occasionally travel globally to meet with relevant product suppliers and prominent Asia-based OEM customers and related production factories.
- Internal product development leadership to develop and acquire new products relevant to OEM customers.
- Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel)
- Forecasting and planning for all OEM customer products
- Price quoting and project assistance with customers
- Keep MaxLite CRM system updated for company review and analysis.
- Periodically report market conditions to Executive Team to ensure the company has the resources to drive new business with our customers.
- Collaborate internally with all functions of the business to meet and exceed sales budget. These include marketing, supply chain, legal, product management and operations.
- Maintain market and competitor intelligence and develop strategies to maintain the Company’s competitiveness.
- Performs assigned duties as assigned with minimal supervision
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred or relevant work experience
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience with demonstrated track record of success.
- Advanced level of knowledge in the OEM segment of the lighting industry strongly preferred.
- Technical skills sufficient to understand process & product specifications.
- Experience with selling lighting controls a major plus.
- Innovative mindset to help analyze and improve work processes.
- Ability to manage detail on multiple projects simultaneously, expert problem solver.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; bilingual a plus

- Excellent communication, organizational, time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team to prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- This is a remote position with the anticipated domestic and international travel at least 90% of the time.
- Must be able to travel by plane, train, car, boat, both domestic and internationally
- Must be able to walk, talk, sit, stand, bend, listen, type, read
- Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 15 pounds on occasion
