Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Territory Sales Manager to oversee and grow our business in New England. This individual will play a key role in driving sales growth through distributor engagement, customer presentations, and relationship management. The ideal candidate will be skilled in promoting our products and services, communicating effectively with electrical distributors, contractors, and end users, and providing product training to ensure customer success. Compensation for this position would include base salary, commission program, car and cell phone allowances.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve or exceed targets.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and showcases for potential and existing clients.
- Make sales calls to electrical distributors, electrical contractors and end users to drive demand for EIKO products.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to drive revenue growth.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with distributors, contractors, and key customers.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored product and service solutions.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction.
- Deliver ongoing support and product training to strengthen partnerships.
Territory Management
- Analyze market trends and identify new opportunities within the territory.
- Plan and execute strategic sales activities to maximize coverage and efficiency.
- Monitor and report on sales performance and market conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and sales records in CRM systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams, including Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Service, to support customer initiatives and business growth.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to provide market insights and maintain a competitive edge.
- Participate in tradeshows, sales meetings and training programs
Skills and Qualifications:
- Sales Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the Electrical Lighting field with strong sales skills including influencing, persuasion, negotiation, and closing techniques.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
- Relationship Building Skills: Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: To effectively manage a territory and meet deadlines.
- Product Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the company's products or services and ability to provide product training to customers.
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to address customer needs and resolve issues.
- Analytical Skills: To analyze market trends and sales performance.
- Self-Motivation and Drive: To achieve sales targets and stay motivated.
- Ability to Work Independently: To manage a territory and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree: Degree in Business, Sales or related areas is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs of marketing and product materials.
- Requires frequent travel by car.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods at trade shows and customer events.
- May require occasional visits to construction or industrial sites.
