Lumenpulse Changes Course with AlphaLED

In 2014, Lumenpulse acquired the UK-based AlphaLED brand for $30.4M. Today it's being sold back to its founder.

Following an October announcement that Lumenpulse was planning to shut down the AlphaLED factory and brand, the course has now changed.  According to Lux Review, Lumenpulse is now selling the brand back to the orignial founder, Gary Heald.

According to the Lux Review report, Heald has exciting plans for the brand including the following:

  • Emphasizing light quality -- building architectural point source luminaires to two MacAdam ellipses.
  • Utilizing Xicato light engines
  • Expanding into linear luminaires

A Lumenpulse spokesperson informed us in October that the then-anticipated AlphaLED shutdown would have no impact on its North American product offering.
