Cooper Lighting Solutions on Vicksburg Changes
A spokesperson from Cooper Lighting Solutions has provided more details relating to recent changes at the company's Vicksburg, Mississippi manufacturing facility.
Cooper Lighting Solutions will begin to transition some production from its manufacturing facility located in Vicksburg, MS, to Monterrey and Juarez facilities in Mexico. The transition, which will take place through Q2 2021, primarily impacts the company’s outdoor LED and sports lighting family of products. Poles and other select product lines will continue to be produced in Vicksburg.
As the lighting industry continues to transform at an accelerated rate, this change will enable the company to optimize production and supply in order to remain competitive and provide our customers with the service and quality that they expect from us.
Unfortunately, this change will bring a reduction in workforce and we regret the impact to employees. This is always a difficult decision, and we are committed to managing all matters related to the employees affected in a respectful and professional manner. The company will ensure timely notification of employees in compliance with all local and federal laws. In addition, we have and will continue to work with the local union and government officials to assist these employees with placement and/or retraining programs during this transition period.
