Position overview:

We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager to service the Western US and Western Canada. This Sales Manager will maintain, build, and grow relationships with retail outlets, residential interior designers, and Contract / Hospitality design firms and purchasing groups. This individual’s objective will be to further grow the current partner network in the region and work closely to drive business with our independent sales rep team. The ideal candidate will analyze customers’ needs and utilize solution based selling techniques to demonstrate the value of our products while growing sales in the Western US markets.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work directly with/hire and retain sales rep force (commission based) including travel with the independent sales rep team
  • Lead and manage all key account activities and communications, including new product presentations for our family of lighting brands
  • Develop a forecast and implement sales plans in these areas emphasizing key partners and channels, working closely with key accounts and independent sales representatives
  • Strategically grow existing customer base and discover new business opportunities
  • Cultivate new relationships and develop/enhance existing relationships to increase our brand awareness
  • Create and manage annual business plans to deliver target goals
  • Conduct research to identify and qualify prospective clients, projects, and partners
  • Create reports reflecting summary of selling activities and conversations including calendar, sales pipeline, account profile, and day-to-day sales contact activities
  • Maintain timely follow-ups on quotations, documenting wins and losses with available background information
  • Assist with the planning of sales exhibits and trade shows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience is preferred in marketing or business
  • 5 years of sales experience in consumer products
  • Demonstrated success developing, growing, and managing relationships with retail, residential design, and hospitality design
  • Proven ability to successfully manage a sales team
  • Exceptional entrepreneurial attitude and selling skills
  • Demonstrated executive level presentation, communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability and track record of closing deals
  • Strategic thinker and understands the big picture
  • Ability to travel (-/+) 50% of the time
  • Work location from home in the Western US
