Regional Sales Manager: Central Plains States

Position overview:

Lunera is growing rapidly, an LED and Industrial IoT Company, based in Silicon Valley. We are seeking an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, Regional Sales Manager, to cover a territory to include the Central Plain States (Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma). In addition, this person will lead our National Account success with Graybar and Villa Lighting. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this position manages all selling activities of Lunera Products and Services through electrical distributors, while increasing sales, building brand awareness and growing profitability. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge in LED technology and other lighting technologies, and a commitment to serving customers. Successful candidates will reside in St. Louis or Kansas City.

Position Description

  • Lead National Account success with Villa and Graybar, helping Lunera engage nationally
  • Responsible for achieving sales, profit and growth budgets within an assigned territory
  • Build valuable relationships with Electrical Distributors, Contractors and Strategic End users
  • Direct, coordinate, train and manage activities of independent Sales Representatives
  • Establish Representative budgets and host performance quarterly performance reviews
  • Engage Utility Rebate administrators to ensure Lunera acceptance into these Programs
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate high level of courage, hunger and competitiveness
  • Technical ability to sell Lunera’s value and product differentiation to all levels of our Customers
  • Travel, up to 50%, to effectively manage and train outside and inside Representative resources
  • Provide accurate and timely Opportunities forecasts into our SFDC CRM planning tool
  • Provide timely and competent weekly reports, sales expense and other administrative requests


  • Must have a minimum of 5 years sales experience in the Lighting and Electrical Industry
  • Proven expert in LED lighting technologies and value proposition
  • A working knowledge of the lighting sales representative network and electrical industry
  • Experience with and understanding of the Energy Retrofit Market, including ESCOs
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint)
  • CRM and Opportunity Forecasting required, SFDC preferred
  • An aggressive self-starter with the ability to build executive relationships, articulate Lunera product and business strategies, create demand and close deals.
  • Must have keen ability to position turnkey solutions and articulate primary vendor strategies to senior executives
  • Proven experience in processes for successful account management, including forecasting, quota over achievement, sales presentations
