Brief Description

The Lighting Specialist provides technical support of automation, lighting, instrumentation, drive, or control products to customers and WESCO personnel.

Detailed Description

  • Provide technical expertise as a specialist in control, lighting, automation, instrumentation, or drive products to customers
  • Conduct detailed product demonstrations and support pre-sale activities
  • Specify products to meet customer requirements and needs, recommend inventory of products, and provide quotations
  • Make calls to customers and prospects and assist Account Reps. in finding new opportunities
  • Partner with Purchasing and suggest inventory and price levels
  • Ensure that product part numbers, price, costs and discounts are always current
  • Participate in price rebates
  • Train and assist Sales staff with product familiarity, new product development and related product technology
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and customers
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Thorough knowledge of sales, marketing, and processes in area of specialty
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment
  • Ability to clearly present complex data to non-technical staff
  • Ability to work well with management and evaluate customers’ needs
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
