The Product Manager - Renewables is responsible for the renewables product portfolio strategy and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product requirement, and working closely with supply chain, operations, sales, and marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

The product manager will lead the collaboration with cross-functional teams for every stage of product development. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. The Product Manager will report directly to the Director of Renewables.

 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap by transforming business and market strategies into actionable, defined product plans.
  • Lead market research and positioning conversations to ensure viable products and balanced growth.
  • Manage new product development projects from concept to launch
  • Monitor the quality of assigned products and develop improvement plans
  • Be the technical expert on the product and provide technical support to the sales and sales engineering teams
  • Create all needed documentation to support the product category including product definitions, test plans, technical specifications, data sheets, installation and operating manuals
  • Continually learn and develop expertise about the product category
  • Develop cost reduction strategies and execute them
  • Manage the product safety listing, regulatory requirements, and performance listings
  • Ensure product compliance with applicable UL, DLC, and Dark Sky listings
  • Support the company sales plan by going on technical sales calls
  • Manage the supplier base to achieve company goals, maintain an up-to-date supplier score card and visit suppliers as needed

 

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in product management, product engineering or related role, with experience in solar products highly desirable
  • Strong Project Management Skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong Project Management Skills

 

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, business, or related field
