Eastern Regional Sales Manager

To support our growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to cover the Eastern coast of the United States. This is a remote position and the candidate must reside in the territory, preferably near a major airport.
This person will be the lead point of contact and will be responsible for maintaining and fostering the growth of relationships amongst agents, specifiers, distributors, contractors and undeveloped areas of the region. You will work collaboratively with the VP of Sales and the internal corporate team to share and access the best support, competitive solutions and market conditions to aid in cultivating a successful region.
Role:
- Review active Dashboards of Agents
- All company correspondence to be conducted through company phone and company software i.e. Outlook, Zoho, Microsoft Office programs, etc.
- Maintain relationships with existing agents in the territory
- Prospect, research, interview, and hire new agents in unrepresented areas
- Respond to email and phone requests within a reasonable amount of time not exceeding 24 hours
- Keep calendar updated and shared with VPS and President
- Provide continuing education and product training to the agencies and their clients
- Work closely with our agents and their customers, proactively attend to market demands
- Work with internal team members to provide feedback, support and build strong relationships
- Attend regional and national shows to stay up to date with industry trends
- Establish sales plans and goals with your agencies, continuing communication with VP of Sales
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Outside sales experience, with a record of success in the specification, distribution, & contractor markets
- Minimum of 3 years in the Lighting, Controls or Electrical Supply / Design industry
- Independent, organized and self-motivated
- Strong communication skills, comfortable with public speaking
Industry Knowledge:
- Established relationships with Lighting Designers, Electrical Engineers, Architects and the like within the territory.
- Ability to read blueprints and use industry standard software
- Knowledge and understanding of the lighting go to market model and direct competitors
- Lighting Controls understanding, especially DMX, preferred but not mandatory
