Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven presentation skills and demonstrated effective sales methods. As an Inside Quotation & Sales Support Specialist, you will be part of our Quotes Department’s efforts through process improvements and enhancements, reliable and accurate quote production, technical support, developing technical documentation and assisting with customer needs. You will build excellent customer relationships and drive sales results. Using your technical sales expertise to help our customers realize their business goals with product solutions you're proud to deliver. This position works very closely with and supports our Senior Sales Support Specialist.


Position Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Quotes

  • Evaluate project specifications, engineering documentation and competitor specifications, identifying suitable product compliance and exceptions as required.
  • Provide lighting layout designs and product performance evaluations utilizing appropriate data sheets or software as prescribed by the company.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of NFPA101, NEC70, IBC, Underwriters Laboratories and application or product performance Code requirements.
  • Contribute ideas to the team for continuous improvement and expansion.
  • Comply with and meet the Company’s Project Performance Plans and Measures.
  • Transfer industry, technical, and product knowledge to customers, sales representatives and employees (including employees in other departments-customer service, field services)
  • Maintain involvement in turnkey projects, demonstrations and other related customer projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Possess and maintain an in-depth knowledge of emergency lighting industry and product lines offered by the Company.
  • Engage with Engineering and Operations to identify product applications, ETO (Engineered to Order) configurations, lead time and application solutions.

 

Support Aspects

  • Assist staff, representatives and customers with product selection, applications, code compliance and technical resolutions.
  • Participate, when needed, with cut sheet processes.
  • Provide technical support and training via phone, email and meetings for company products: answer technical inquiries, diagnose reported problems or configuration issues, recommend possible solutions, follow issue through to resolution or escalate if no resolution can be found.
  • Contribute ideas to the team for continuous improvement and expansion efforts.

 

Sales Aspects

  • Assist in the development of formal sales proposals.
  • Set-up and operate equipment for customer demonstrations and evaluations.
  • Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements.
  • Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
  • Establish customer rapport and acceptance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective listening and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate basic troubleshooting skills.

  • Must possess analytical skills and experience.
  • Multitasking and flexibility required to excel in this position.
  • Proficiency and intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Suite particularly Excel and Outlook.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of electrical and lighting applications and design
  • Competitive knowledge including solutions, technology and product offerings. Understands and is conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

 

Physical Demands

  • Able to bend, squat, twist, climb stairs and lift
  • While performing the duties of this position the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, talk and listen with occasional bending, stooping, crouching and kneeling.
  • Regularly required to use hands to fingers.
  • Duties require use of computer software and equipment that involve regularly sitting for extended periods of time and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 lbs.
