Spectrum Lighting San Antonio is a leading provider of high-quality lighting solutions, catering to various industries and applications. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with electrical distributors, electrical contractors, and specifiers in the Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley areas.

 

Territory and Location:
Corpus Christi, Laredo, and Rio Grande Valley, TX
      * This position can reside in the territory or San Antonio

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Identify and target potential customers, including electrical distributors, contractors, and specifiers in the assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities.

 

Sales & Negotiation

  • Articulate and showcase the unique features, benefits, and value propositions of Spectrum Lighting's products and services to promote their adoption and use.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with customers, ensuring mutual satisfaction and beneficial outcomes.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotations, and presentations to current and prospective customers.

 

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market developments.
  • Develop comprehensive reports and forecasts on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback, providing valuable insights for management's review and informed decision-making.

 

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers through regular communication and visits.
  • Anticipate and address customer needs and requirements with tailored solutions and proactive support.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and resolve to their full satisfaction.

 

Technical Support & Product Knowledge

  • Keep a pulse on industry trends, product developments, and technological advancements in the lighting industry.
  • Offer dedicated technical support and assistance to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns regarding products and applications.
  • Deliver customized product demonstrations and training sessions for customers based on their specific needs and requirements.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably in the lighting or electrical industry.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities, with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Technical aptitude and understanding of lighting products and applications is preferred.
