Senior Quotations Specialist

We have an opening for a Senior Quotations Specialist. This person needs to have management experience or aspirations. The quotations specialist role is key to Power and Lighting Systems’ success in our market. They are responsible for taking projects from their inception through to the awarding of a contract: quoting project budgets, bids, and revisions timely and accurately.
The quotes team is successful through constant and open communication with all parties vital to a project bid – salespeople, manufacturers, customers, and internal team members. They are well-versed in reading and interpreting architectural and electrical building plans (blueprints), performing take-offs, and sending RFIs when clarifications are required.
The ideal candidate has a passion for lifelong learning, a strong attention to detail, is capable of daily multi-tasking, demonstrates a high level of computer literacy, and has strong communication skills. They will also possess leadership qualities including team coaching, leading by example, strong communication abilities, and past management or training experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers and manufacturers
- Communicating often and openly with sales team and other internal departments
- Maintaining a high level of product knowledge through independent research and attending in-office training sessions with manufacturers
- Addressing all emails and phone calls in a friendly and timely fashion
- Staying in tune with market pricing by receiving and sharing feedback with management, sales, and internal teams
- Quoting a range of projects from simple to large/complex, all with the same care and degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Learning Power and Lighting Systems’ full line card and understanding the unique traits that set apart each of our manufacturers
- Properly filing ALL documentation and requests in the Oasis project
- Utilizing Oasis day-in and day-out to build, price, and modify projects
- Attending regular internal training sessions to learn more about plan reading, product nuances, and other fields of expertise
- Reading plans, performing take-offs, measuring run lengths, and interpreting emergency power requirements
- Conducting Oasis project research
- Daily internet research
- Finalizing project details for submittals and orders
- Reviewing and interpreting technical project documentation (cut sheets, submittal drawings, installation instructions, etc.)
- Processing submittal comments, communicating potential change orders, and sending PO breakouts to customers
- Acting as a mentor to junior team members
- Assisting with internal informal trainings -- plan reading, technical product knowledge sharing, best practices
- Communicating and acting proactively to provide the best possible service to our customers
- Assisting project management and customer service teams with technical questions, clarifications, and error correction
Skills:
- Architectural and electrical plan reading
- Experience with Oasis/Ingen Software a plus
- Past or current experience with a lighting manufacturer’s representative and/or electrical distributor
- Experience in the construction industry
- Strong mathematical capabilities
- Strong computer proficiency
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Fast learner
- Highly organized
