Elemental LED is an innovative, fast-growing company. We are seeking a Specification Sales Manager that is based in California, preferably in Southern CA or San Francisco. 

We are looking for candidates who have the drive, energy, integrity, and industry experience needed to excel in a competitive environment. Competitive candidates will be:

As the Specification Sales Manager for the West, you are responsible for driving sales growth within your territory, which involves 80% of your time spent engaging with customers in the field. In partnership with the Regional Sales Manager, you oversee relationships with Sales Representative Agencies (Reps), ensuring their performance and accountability. You collaborate with Reps to establish and maintain specifier relationships, driving both sales and growth. Drawing on your sales management expertise and experience in the lighting industry or a related field, you identify revenue opportunities by developing, organizing, and executing strategies for the Regional Sales segment.

Your role involves identifying and nurturing sales prospects, building long-term relationships with both new and existing customers through direct and indirect sales channels. You also create and implement plans, strategies, and policies that align with the company's overall mission and objectives. Additionally, you manage assigned activities, fostering collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization, and support the Director, Regional Sales, in your areas of expertise.

 

Essential job functions:

  • Assumes responsibility for all Spec sales programs, services, and activities to grow our business by creating value for our customers and developing your territory
  • Develops area sales network and pipeline; penetrates major, significant accounts, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of strategic relationships; defines annual goals, strategies, and methods to evaluate profitability and sales performance
  • Executes Company’s sales plan in support of Company goals and regional objectives; influences and motivates buyers and decision makers through pre-sales and/or post-sales technical consulting activities including prospecting, approaching, presenting, closing, and follow-up to achieve expedient purchase decisions
  • Relationship manager for existing customers, playing an important role in developing and maintaining the Company's image and reputation in the marketplace:
    • Assesses customer plans and requirements on an ongoing basis from a technical, business, tactical and strategic perspective
    • Provides technical assistance with internal technical resources to existing customers to troubleshoot product issues
    • Collaborates with the product development division
    • Recommends new market/product development opportunities and needs
    • Communicates special customization requests to the product division
    • Coordinates the involvement of all necessary team members to achieve desired goals
    • Identifies new sales opportunities to achieve sales expansion through a variety of activities including networking, prospecting, conducting on-site sales calls, cold calling, lunch and learns
    • Follows up on sales leads received by the Company
    • Converts prospects into sales by differentiating from the competition
    • Develops, proposes, and takes proactive steps to build positive relationships with key business and industry leaders, partners, vendors, etc., while participating in trade shows, conferences, meetings, and any other community-based activities
  • Provides timely and detailed information on market needs, buying trends and competitive information
  • Collaborates with marketing to develop comprehensive strategic business plans for short and long-term
  • Manages opportunities in order to meet or exceed annual sales goals
  • Delivers and tracks performance metrics, trends, updates, and reports
  • Manages complex, sensitive customer service issues and provides expert guidance in all aspects of order fulfillment
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and strategies to execute solutions within the existing business model and channels

This position will report to the Director of Regional Sales, West. Compensation is competitive with attractive upside potential.
