Senior Inside Sales Representative

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for delivering sales quotations to our agents and customers to drive revenue growth. Accomplishing this by maintaining and enhancing relationships with our agent network to obtain both project details and the competitive climate of the project to provide comprehensive quotation and sales support. In addition, work collaboratively with regional sales team and inside teams to deliver on a seamless customer experience through the quotation and sales process.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Understands lighting products and the lighting sales channel.
  • Able to evaluate project requirements, up-sell against competitor products, and complete quotation process to win the sales order while maintaining profitability.
  • Ability to manage large project quotations, while building relationships with both our agent network and outside sales team.
  • Able to evaluate project requirements from the request for quotations through final quotation process, including follow-up and final disposition.
  • Able to work and communicate cross functionally across inside and outside teams.
  • Thinks strategically about quotations and is willing to make recommendations to close quotations successfully.
  • Ability to communicate both electronically, as well as verbally with customers/agents.
  • Generate crossovers, verifies their accuracy, reconciles quotations with orders received, and assists in project management through factory release.
  • Represents the inside team during agent, specifier, and customer visits and is open to a minimal amount of travel to build relationships with agent network as required.
  • Comfortable reviewing engineering bills of material and working with engineering to estimate cost during the quotation process.
  • Willingness to drive other departments to meet customer/agent timelines.
  • Set up quotations on quote system, including data entry into database.
  • Participates in required department product and process training.
  • Records Specifications.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Active participation in ongoing individual training / development program
  • Set goals and objectives with Manager; look for ways to improve quality and productivity.
  • Maintain good housekeeping conditions in work area.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Report abnormalities in equipment, machines, programs, processes.
  • Perform backup functions to other team members and to Manager as instructed.
  • Engage in cross-training to support backup efforts as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2-5+ years of quotations experience and has a desire to sell, sales experience helpful.
  • BA/BS business, marketing, or communication preferred but will consider experience.
  • Manufacturing / Bill of Material experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills; demonstrates strong grammatical use of the English language.
  • Demonstrated ability to display strong customer service skills.
  • Must be professional in appearance and attitude and possess the ability to work in a professional manner with customers, agents, and employees at all levels.
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • High level of self-initiative and dependability.
  • Must be flexible to perform overtime duties or adjust schedule when required.
  • Must be flexible and willing to pitch in as needed.
  • Resourceful and highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Must possess positive results driven attitude.
