Ambiance Lighting is a full-service manufacturer’s representative for lighting and controls products for the D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia area. In business for 40 years, we are a 100% employee-owned company who values our customer relationships above all else.



Key job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain a quality relationship with customers (electrical distributors and some contractors) as well as with our manufacturers. Be the face of Ambiance Lighting to our customers.

  • Work with purchasers to expand and maintain stock presence.

  • Project follow up and help quotations staff with negotiations to get commitments.

  • Main point of contact with customers.

  • Act as a communications conduit between customers and inside sales staff when needed.

  • Cross competitor products to our manufacturers as required on discretionary projects.

  • Maintain up-to-date price books.

  • Attend manufacturers training and presentations as required.

  • Always represent Ambiance Lighting and our manufacturers in a professional manner.

  • Conduct regular product demonstrations to educate customers on our product lines.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties. The qualities below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Lighting and/or Electrical Experience preferred.

  • College degree preferred but not required.

  • Must be responsible, disciplined and self-starting.

  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Oasis.

  • Strong written and verbal skills in responding to client needs with a positive and professional manner.

  • Must be able to exchange detailed information with co-workers, clients, and vendors concisely and must have a firm grasp of the English language.

  • This role requires a flexible team player who strives for continuous improvement with a positive, energetic personality and work ethic to meet the needs of this client-driven business.
