Kirlin Lighting, the longest-tenured independent lighting company in the United States, is a Detroit-based business that designs and manufactures LED lighting systems built on time-tested principles: superior quality, modular design, and unmatched reliability. Today, we focus our business on two markets: healthcare lighting and architectural lighting.

From the incandescent lights of the 1890s to the LEDs and controls of the 21st century, Kirlin has mastered each evolution in lighting technology to create state-of-the-art luminaires for the most demanding applications, all made in the USA.

We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead our 30 Commercial and Medical Rep Agencies in the Western U.S. & Canada region. The territory stretches from the Pacific Ocean to Texas, and includes Alaska, Hawaii, British Columbia, and Alberta. As Regional Sales Manager, your leadership will be key in driving Kirlin’s unique lighting solutions into both the commercial and healthcare markets.

 

Expectations of the Regional Sales Manager:

  • Increase sales volume annually for each sales agency, and the region as a whole

  • Increase profitability of annual sales volume for each agency

  • Identify for each territory, all major healthcare facility opportunities, and the specifiers, opinion leaders, and strategic planning necessary to close sales

  • Secure defensible specifications of Kirlin products throughout region

  • Increase sales presentations to specifiers in the field and at the factory in Detroit

  • Educate all agency inside and outside sales personnel on Kirlin product line, policies, and programs

  • Understand market trends and analyze/assess the performance of all agencies

 

Background, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • 3+ years of experience calling on lighting specifiers, or equivalent experience as a lighting specifier

  • Experience in closing sales in a product features-and-benefits market

  • Excellent communication skills, and a passion for educating others

  • Technical, mathematical, and lighting calculation expertise

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, architecture, or a related curriculum

  • PC proficiency, including Excel, Power Point, Salesforce.com, and other digital sales tools

  • Self-starter; organized; well-travelled; persuasive presentation skills

  • Desire to travel 50% or more
