Product Manager (Lighting): Vero Beach, Florida

Product Manager will oversee the team of engineers and all activities relating to product management (quality, implementation, discontinuation etc.) The ideal candidate will have experience in the lighting/ electrical field. Product Manager will work closely with department team leaders. This role requires both a strong technical background and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:

Manage Engineering/ Quotations team

Fully understand the quoting process and contribute to improvements

Set KPI’s for department and reporting KPI metrics to management monthly

Lead, manage and execute launch activities of new product introductions and discontinuation in close co-operation with Sales team and Management

Develop procedures, policies that will assure smooth processes in the department

Research and obtain any and all certifications that may progress our product line, this includes maintaining and updating our established ETL listing for KLUS built fixtures (closet rating, turtle approved, NSF etc.) Assist with ETL visits.

Organize and attend all required trade shows as defined by management

Work with departments to schedule training, webinars, and customer visits as required

Be the Voice-of-the-customer: Identify customer problem, needs and requirements for solutions

Identify market and customer needs; work with Management to drive business cases for new product development and roadmaps

Continually analyze market data from industry sources to measure our competitive position and product success in the market and maintain database of competitive products.

Manage product lifecycle from concept to retirement including generational transitions, phase outs and shifts in the market

Work closely with the marketing team to develop and maintain key sales support material: product specifications, online content, competitive cross-references, technical application guides, etc.
Education and experience:

Bachelor’s degree, or higher education

Engineering background

Proven organizational and management skills
-
3+ years of Product Manager and/or technical experience background (Lighting Preferred)

Writing Technical Requirements and Specs

Proven Leadership track record with experience in managing cross-functional teams
