Summary:
Director of Marketing is responsible for managing and driving the company’s marketing operations including development, planning, and execution of various marketing programs and initiatives in efforts to drive sales growth and build exceptional brand awareness. Interprets business objectives and develops successful marketing campaigns from idea to execution. This position is part of the company’s leadership team. Interacts on a regular basis with other key members of leadership to continue meeting the company’s goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Drives the company brand strategy to remain in line with the overall business strategy.

Work with key leadership in the organization to make sure all efforts of the marketing department are aligned with company goals and departmental goals.

Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities.

Ensures organizations marketing message is clearly defined and distributed to all applicable channels and target audiences.

Produces and/or manages the production of communication tools to support sales and marketing programs.

Assist leadership in product pricing strategy and stay in tune with market trends. Communicate observed changes in market pricing to team members as applicable.

Determines how and which communications are distributed to agents, specifiers, internal and external customers including the content of each, tailored to the specific audience.

Provides creative direction on all marketing communication tool designs and layouts including print, electronic media, trade show, direct mail, and signage.

Administer and manage digital marketing program, including social media, internal website, and email campaigns to ensure brand consistency.

Maximize website performance by working with IT Manager, track keyword rankings, and implement analytic strategies for review of website usage.

Develop, approve, and track marketing department budget annually.

Conduct market research to stay abreast of competitor positioning.

Work with NPD Director and Engineering Director to launch new products to market.

Coordinate with President, NPD Director, and Engineering Director on Product Management. Include other parties as necessary for product review.

Coordinates/directs copy writing for marketing tools and/or writes copy as needed.

Interviews, hires, and trains employees; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Provides guidance, training and support to staff personnel engaged in creating artwork, photography, copy writing and layout.

Negotiates contracts and purchases advertising space from various publications.

Assists in developing an appropriate advertising schedule.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 10 years minimum related experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively create and present to top management, and public groups.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Strong experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail (Outlook) software required.
Certificates and Licenses:
None required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has three direct reports. All reports work in the marketing department.
